Crimson Tide

It dawned on me today as I was sitting here waiting for my DSL to start working again, that I have a copy of Crimson Tide so I pulled it out and watched it again.

Viggo is so good at internalizing the character he is portraying and the director of this film really did a good job at recognizing that with the close-ups of Viggo's face as he goes through the difficulties of being an officer on board a submarine and being a friend. It was heartwrenching for me to see him have to decide what he was going to do and how when he finally made his decision at the end, he stuck by his convictions until someone else's life was at stake. You could see all that in his face, especially his eyes.

There aren't that many actors out there who can draw me in the way he does just with his eyes.

He becomes his character. I think it´s not only due to his acting talent but a reflex of his personality. He´s such a soulful, intense person. He´s amazing (the fact that he´s also a gorgeous man, it´s a lovely extra).

Have you seen the Indian Runner?
No I haven't seen it. It's on my list of things to find and watch. I've heard that it is a very good movie.
It is a good movie, Viggo's acting there is impressive, you really feel for his character (although he's not nice guy -not at all-) and there's an extra for those who think Viggo is a gorgeous man ;)
